Project Smile Update – a World First!

Lighting the world with a smile in Polish Parliament: Smiles win against the bad times in a World First!
A young patient in a Czech hospital drawing a smile for our project in Karlove Vary
A Polish Parliamentary Group with ‘smile’ in their title and the Culture Promotion Office will present a cross section of smiles from the collection in the Polish Parliament on 20th of May. The President of the Polish Parliament, Mr. Bronisław Komorowski, will open the exhibition by drawing a smile. Other MPs will join in spurred on by Polish Olympians, including gold medal winner, Tomasz Majewski, under the logo – “You can Win , when you Smile”! Among the smiles featured from Marek Wysoczynski’s international Project Smile are those by the Jordanian Queen and the Polish Prime Minister, Donald Tunsk. The collection will be on display in the Big Hall of Polish Parliament. A coupe for the exhibition was the addition of smiles from US State Secretary, Ms. Hillary Clinton, and German Chancellor, Ms. Angela Merkel. These were obtained in true ‘smile’ diplomacy style by the Polish Foreign Minister, Mr. Radoslaw Sikorski. But of course the real stars of the exhibition in the Polish Parliament will be the smiles made by children and for children. The Organiser of this smile exhibition, a world first in any parliamentary setting, believes that smiles will find a way, even in politics, because, as Professor of Psychology, Ms. Hanna Brycz from Gdansk University, says: “to propagate a smile means a cure for the soul!”
